The One to Whom the Son Wills to Reveal Him

Jesus sends out seventy ‘others’ and when they return, naturally excited that, “…even the demons are subject to us in Your name”, He responds:

“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said,

“I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.  All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

Son of the Most High,

May we have the authority to speak in Your name.
May we know You.  May we know Your Father.
May we be counted worthy to make You known.
Reveal Yourself.

Amen

Today I am reading: Genesis 25, 26; Psalm 6; Luke 10

One Response to “The One to Whom the Son Wills to Reveal Him”

  1. 1/11/09
Luke 10:21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
Matthew 18:3-5 3And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5″And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.

Lord may we become as little children. Humble, open, trusting, and eager to learn from You. Soften our hearts, make our hearts tender toward You. Reveal Yourself as it is Your good pleasure to do so to little children. Amen
