May the God of Peace Himself Sanctify You Completely

Paul wrapping up his first letter to the church at Thessalonica:

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

God of Peace,

I ask the same thing today.  Sanctify us completely.  Preserve, blamelessly,  our whole spirit, soul and body.  We desire You.  Be glorified in us.  Reveal Yourself.

Today I am reading: I Thessalonians 4, 5; II Thessalonians 1 – 3

One Response to “May the God of Peace Himself Sanctify You Completely”

  1. 11/30/08
    2 Timothy 2:22
22Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.
    1 Peter 3:10-12
    “Whoever would love life
    and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
    11He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil
Lord, may I seek You, and Your peace, and Your righteousness. Help me to let You work in me and through me. Oh Lord purify my heart. Cause my heart to not be cold and callous, but soften my heart toward You. Thank you Lord for great is Your peace.
