Because of the house of the Lord our God

David, in Psalm 122, said that he, “was glad when the said to me, ‘let us go into the house of the Lord.'”  He instructs his listeners, and commits himself, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  By way of explanation he puts it this way:

“Because of the house of the Lord our God
I will seek your good.”

Lord our God,

It is a mystery beyond our understanding that You can both dwell eternally in the unfathomable expanse of eternity and at the same time make Your home in our hearts.  We can see clearly that wherever Your Spirit is allowed access, that place is blessed.  Our humble prayer today is that our hearts would be found worthy to be the house of the Lord our God.  Fill us completely with Your presence.  Open the eyes of our hearts to see You.  Reveal Yourself.

Amen

Today I am reading: Psalm 122; I Corinthians 9-11
