Known by God

Paul, talking to the Corinthians about things offered to idols, begins with:

“We know that we all have knowledge.

Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies.

And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.”

Wonderful and Holy God,

My heart, in desperation and with great yearning, cries out to be known by You.  This broken, hardened, damaged, sin-stained heart – with what little love it has to offer – does love You.  Imperfect love that it is, my heart cries to You, “I love You”.  And in Your mercy, may it please You to reveal Yourself to this devoted heart.

Amen
